Technical Details

For use of the ConRad SAR Thermal Blanket Independently:

Insulate yourself from the bare ground to prevent conductive heat loss by laying down a waterproof insulative material of some type or another ConRad SAR Thermal Blanket, PATIENT SIDE up.

Lie down on the waterproof ground insulative material.

Deploy the ConRad SAR Thermal Blanket so that the PATIENT SIDE is next to you and covering as much of you as possible.

Roll your body from side to side and tuck as much of the ConRad SAR Thermal Blanket underneath you as much as possible to prevent heat loss to the ground and circumferentially conserve your body heat. If the Blanket is tucked sufficiently underneath you, the waterproof ground insulative material may not be necessary

Use of the ConRad SAR Thermal Blanket with a stretcher, gurney or rescue litter:

Ensure that the rescue litter has a blanket or some comfortable insulative material in the bed of the litter. (A stretcher or gurney will have a patient pad.)

Place the patient on the stretcher, gurney or rescue litter in a clinically appropriate manner

Deploy the ConRad SAR Thermal Blanket, PATIENT SIDE next to the patient, covering as much of the patient as possible.

Tuck as much of the ConRad SAR Thermal Blanket underneath the patient as possible to circumferentially conserve body heat.

Secure the patient to the stretcher, gurney or rescue litter.
